Flor de Cristal: the return of stop motion animation

After five years, Julita Conde returns to make a personal project in stop motion with Crystal Flower, a short film that marks his return to handmade animation. The work, currently in pre-production, was born as a fable about plants and self-esteem, a sort of spin off of his previous work. Thorns. The script was written in the last years of his career and remained archived between sketches and storyboards until today.

In an intimate reflection, Julita shares her love for animation, an art she describes as demanding but irreplaceable. “I don't know what's to come, I don't know if I'll be up to it, but I'm going to keep giving my all for this art that has given me back so much,” she confesses. Crystal Flower is presented as an act of creative and emotional faith, a reaffirmation of the human sensibility behind each animated frame.
